Lisa mentored me at every stage—from learning Microsoft Office to managing programs, to helping create my first federally funded workforce initiative with Mi Casa. We’ve stood side by side, pushing for policy—Ban the Box, repeal efforts, and reforms that center justice and equity. I met Lisa in 2016 and she spoke about her activist Mother. She also spoke about her personal relationships and how that led her to help others. She had my attention and I was impressed. Here is someone who chooses to do better, in every scenario. Next, I talked with Lisa at a neighborhood meeting discussing the problem of the name "Stapleton". Lisa joined our group chat and stayed involved and spoke up when she had advice to offer or to show her support. I often wondered how many other community organizations she was busy with and how she found the time. Her input and support was extremely beneficial to our group. When someone in my personal life needed help, I called Lisa. She always picked up quickly and took the time to help out my friends, along with making sure to ask how I was doing. She valued me and every person that she helped. Lisa is unwavering in her genuine care and supreme competence. She makes it her business to get involved and help out wherever she can. These are all reasons why she would make the best decisions for Denver. She is the leader we need and I can't wait to see her in the Mayor's office.

Lisa has committed to discontinuing the use of mass surveillance technology (i.e. Flock/Axon license plate readers), expanding the STAR program to 24/7 service citywide, and building permanently affordable social housing using city land. Lisa has also been an outspoken voice on not building data centers in the City & County of Denver. I trust that Lisa will stay true to these commitments because she has shown that she is accountable to our local community and not out-of-state billionaires.
